Surrounded by Beauty

Once you arrive at your destination and checked-in, you can rest or, having opened our ancient wooden door like the door of a time machine, walk through centuries of history along alleys full of monuments, many of which are dedicated to the Patron Saint Agata, and Baroque-style palaces, today a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Walking a few meters you will immediately reach the Ursino Castle.
The fortress built by Emperor Frederick II, today preserves and hosts, within its imposing walls, international art historical relics. The area around the Frederick's fortress is surrounded by the typical meat and fish trattorias that offer delicious dishes for lunch and dinner, until late at night. Almost close to Palazzo Speciale, every morning , the traditional fish market, A piscaria , entertains buyers and curious with its folkloristic display of stalls, full of the color and extravagant shapes of the just caught precious sea creatures. From here, climbing a small staircase, you will be behind the Amenano Fountain, known as the acqua a linzolu ; this is the visible testimony of the Amenano river, which flows underground and emerges right in the main city point.

Once recovered from the hypnotic pouring of the river waters into the fountain and turned around the corner Piazza Duomo will appear to your eyes, from whose center the Liotru, the elephant obelisk, symbol of Catania, rises towards the sky. In the square you can immediately visit: the Cathedral of Sant'Agata, Palazzo degli Elefanti, the Achilliane Baths, the Diocesan Museum, Porta Uzeda.

This, infact is the place from which to start the city tour to discover all the historical and artistic treasures of the city. Via Etnea also winds here, the main street of Catania, dotted with shops that will be your shopping paradise, and bars - including the famous Savia- ready to refresh you with granitas, ice cream, cannoli or arancini. And for every trip out of town, just behind the Palazzo Speciale B&B in Piazza Borsellino, also known as Piazza Alcalà, visitors can comfortably park their car, or get on the bus with which to reach Fontanarossa airport, Palermo and other Sicilian cities.
